Internet Marketing History (Part 3)

So that’s what I did, I stopped, stepped back and thought about all of the things that I didn’t like about eBay and dealing with products. Inventory and shipping were at the top of the heap. Information products seemed to be the way that I wanted to go. It’s cheap to produce and distribute. So I created a website called www.EveryEbook.com using shopping cart software called X-Cart Gold. I purchased the resale rights of a bunch of eBooks and began selling them from eBay and www.EveryEbook.com.

On eBay, I was practically giving the books away to build up a contact list. I built up around 100 or so, which is pretty good. I also sold some off of the website, considering the only way that I was promoting it was via my About Me page on eBay. But again, I still didn’t like having to manage all of the listings on eBay – it was just too time consuming for me. I want to build something that builds me wealth without having to work to hard at it, if you know what I mean. Plus, another thing I really don’t like about eBay is the mentality of the customer base – they are largely folks looking for incredible deals – to the point were you aren’t making any money. So aside from a few items that I sell now and then, I’ve backed off of eBay.
